Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce the titled foam, by blending two types of polyfunctional polyether-polyols to form a specified OH group-containing composition and reacting this composition with an aromatic polyisocyanate in the presence of water.
CONSTITUTION: A composition, hydroxyl value 50W300mg.KOH/g, is prepared by blending 30W90wt% polyfunctional polyether-polyol, MW 4,000W10,000, obtained by using as an initiator 10W40mol% sucrose and 60W90mol% glycerol with 10W 70wt% di- and/or tri-functional polyester-polyol. This composition is reacted with an aromatic polyisocyanate in the presence of water or a blowing agent. Here, as the aromatic polyisocyanate, there is preferably used a mixture containing tolylene diisocyanate and diphenylmethane diisocyanate in a ratio of about 90W40/10W60(wt%).
