Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce shock on a load, by a method wherein a rock ladder, which follows in the wake of a rising and falling surface of the sea, is located between a boom conveyor and a barge, and a head between the ladder and the barge is always kept constant.
CONSTITUTION: A rock ladder 8, consisting of a cylinder 6, which is supported through the medium of an arm 5 so that it can move upward and downward, and zigzag steps 7, which are positioned in the cylinder 6 for absorbing shock on dropping cargoes, is located within a drop area of the cargoes delivered out from a boom conveyor 3.
