Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce teaching time and to trace weld line precisely, by installing a means which detects the marked points of a weld line simultaneously so as to compute the position data of the weld line, and moves the welding electrode and the material to be treated relatively according to the computed data.
CONSTITUTION: The marked points P1WP4 on the weld line 101 of a material to be welded 1 is detected by a weld line detectors 6aW6d, and the data are stored in a memory 7. At the time of welding, an operational circuit 8 reads the data for the marked points P1, P2 and computes the position date between the marked points P1, P2 of the weld line 101 by linear interpolation. A motor control circuit 9 drives and controls a truck 2 so that the moving locus of the material to be welded 1 in relation to a torch 3 may coincide with the weld line 101 according to the data. On the other hand, welding power source 11 begins to supply the welding electric power to the torch 3 and the material to be welded 1. When the welding arrives at the marked point P2, the operational circuit 8 computes the position data between the marked points P2 and P3, the same procedure applies correspondingly to the following.
