Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare the titled composition capable of keeping high thixotropic properties even in the presence of a large amount of an alcohol, and useful for paint, etc., by adding specific amounts of a thixotropic agent and a specific polyalkylene compound to an alcohol compound which is an essential component.
CONSTITUTION: A composition composed of (A) 100 parts by weight of a composition containing, as an essential component, a compound having a molecular weight of ≤1,000 and only one OH group, wherein the amount of the OH group in the compound is ≥1wt% (e.g. 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, etc.), (B) 1W20 parts by weight of a thixotropic agent (pref. fumed silica having primary particle diameter of ≤100mμ and having silanol groups at the surface of the particle), and (C) 0.1W10 parts by weight of a compound of formula [R is H or CH3; X and Y are H, 1W6C alkyl, acetyl, or (meth)acryloyl; n is ≥10], e.g. polyethylene glycol #600, etc. The composition is pref. Kneaded with a three-roll mill to obtain a homogeneously dispersed mixture.
USE: Ink, molding compound, adhesive, solid fuel, etc.
