Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the structure of a vacuum fan compact and to prolong the service life of the same, by empolying an induction motor and a vortex flow fan in combination, and forming an annular groove in the casing.
CONSTITUTION: Dust drawn through a hose or the like (not shown) is introduced into a dust case 23 from a hose connecting port 24. This intake air is passed through filters 28, 29 and only clean air is drawn into an annular groove 13 from an inlet port 14 opened at one end of annular groove 13 which is formed in casing 12 for a vortex flow fan A. In the annular groove 13, air flow is formed into swirl and pressurized by the function of blades 17. Then, air is discharged to the outside from an outlet port 26 after dust contained therein is further removed when air passes through an outlet port 15 and packing 27 fitted in outlet port 26. By thus constructing a vacuum cleaner through combined use of induction motor 1 and a vortex flow fan, it is enabled to design the cleaner in a small and compact struture. Further, since such a vacuum cleaner is explosion-proof and has a long service life, it can be used in a dusty environment.
