Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the detector stable with high sensitivity, by containing the center magnetic path forming gap between the oscillator and itself, magnetic flux detection means and the oscillator in the cylindrical housing, and fixing the end of oscillator to the housing.
CONSTITUTION: The knocking oscillation caused to the cylinder block 1 is delivered to the oscillator 21 via the housing 27 of the detector 2. Since both ends of the oscillation chip 21a of the oscillator 21 are fixed to the housing 27, the chip 21a oscillates in the magnetic path, the magnetic resistance in the magnetic path changes with the change of the gap G, and the voltage output corresponding to the magnetic flux change is output in the coil 25. This signal is output to the detection circuit 3 via the terminal 28b from the one end 25c of the coil 25. Since the resonance point of the oscillation tip 25a is in matching with the knocking frequency, the knocking detection sensitivity is especially higher at this frequency and the signal sensitivity in other frequency band is relatively fallen, allowing to increase the S/N ratio of knocking detection.
