CONSTITUTION:A rubber layer 7 is baked and tightly fitted on both the sides and peripheral surface of an annular metal plate 6 to prepare the outer frame packing 3. When the packing is interposed between the yoke 1 of the starting motor and its end brackets 4, 5 and tightened by bolts 8, the rubber layer 7 is not squeezed out along the meeting surfaces although the width of the pressing is small. Therefore, good tight sealing is effected to prevent dust, water, etc. from invading through the meeting surfaces of the yoke 1 and the brackets 4, 5.
