Abstract
PURPOSE: To ensure the automation of the work of an NC lathe by providing a cutting-off confirmation device and thereby transferring to the feeding operation of the work after completion of the cutting-off operation.
CONSTITUTION: A sensing lever 9 is fixed to the tip of a shaft 6 extending in the same direction with the main shaft on the upper surface of a kead stock 1. The shaft 6 is rotated through the intermediary of a lever 12 connected with the piston rod 11 of a fluid cylinder 10, while the sensing lever 9 is also swiveled around the shaft 6. The lever 12 touches and separates from limit switches 13 and 14 and thereby actuators 15 and 16 are turned on and off. When the cutting off is completed, the switch 13 is turned on by the swiveling of the lever 12, and the work proceeds to the next block.
