Abstract

PURPOSE:A cosmetic composition that contains a pulverized mica composition resulting from coating pulverized mica or its pretreated product with a mixture of hydrocarbon, higher fatty acid and silicone oil, followed by baking. CONSTITUTION:A higher fatty acid, hydrocarbon, silicone oil and pulverized mica are dissolved or dispersed in an appropriate organic solvent and the solvent is distilled off to coat the surface of the pulverized mica with the mixture. Then, the product is baked at 100-150 deg.C for 1-5hr to produce the cosmetic composition containing a pulverized mica composition. The ratio of the pulverized mica to the oil mixture is 99.7:0.3-92.0:8.0 in the resultant composition. EFFECT:The resultant composition has high transparency and oil film-like luster and gives smooth feeling and good adhesion, when applied to skin. The color, when coated on skin, coincides with that in appearance and blooming can be prevented.
