Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a decorative sheet capable of changing its tint according to an angle of view, by drying a coating compound containing a pigment with iridescent luster applied to the surface of a substrate to form a film, to which a coating compound containing a pigment with iridescent luster different from that of the film is applied and dried.
CONSTITUTION: The entire surface of the substrate 1, e.g. a flywood, is undercoated to form the under coat layer 2. A coating compound containing a pigment with iridescent luster (e.g., a coating compound wherein a vehicle, e.g., an alkyd resin, is blended with a pigment having iridesent luster of mica ceous titanium foil, etc.) is coated on the whole surface or the patterned parts of the layer 2 to give the first pattern layer 3. The second pattern layer 4 is formed with a coating compound containing a pigment different from that of the first layer. The pattern layer 4 is dried, and, if necessary, covered with the top coat 5, e.g., an acrylic resin, dried and cured to give a decorative sheet.
