PURPOSE:To prevent the blocking of small diameter portions with a braze when heater tubes are brazed by a method in which the heater tube-fitting holes for a regenerator housing, etc., are made into a tiered hole consisting of a large diameter hole and a small diameter hole and a funnel-shaped tapered portion is provided close to the small diameter portion. CONSTITUTION:A heater 1 in a starling engine is connected to a cylinder head 4a of an expansion cylinder 4, and a housing 6 of a regenerator 3 is mutually connected through a heater tube 7. In this case, the fitting hole of the heater tube 7 of the housing 6 is made into a tiered hole consisting of a large diameter portion 9a and a small diameter portion 9b, and a funnel-shaped tapered portion 9c is provided toward inside of the housing close to the small diameter portion 9b. Thus, when the housing 6 and the heater tube 6 are brazed for jointing, the braze 8 is adhered, as shown in Fig., without blocking a fitting hole 9 even if the fused braze 8 flows down along the wall of the large diameter portion 9a of the fitting hole 9 and reaches the tapered portion 9c.
