Abstract

PURPOSE: To permit the tubes and the tube plate of a multitubular heat exchanger to be readily joined and a faulty heat exchanger tube to be replaced independently by inserting each tube of a multitubular heat exchanger to be connected to a chaff burner into a fitting hole in a tube plate so as to project, and fitting the projecting end with a socket to seal the gap between the tube and the plate.
CONSTITUTION: In a tube plate 6, fitting holes 8 each having a diameter slightly larger than the outside diameter of a heat exchanger tube 5 are made. Into each fitting hole 8, the heat exchanger tube 5 is inserted, with its end projecting from the plate 6. The projecting portion is threaded 9 to connected with a socket 10. The end surface 12 of the socket 10 is closely contacted with the tube plate 6 in order to seal a gap 13 between the heat exchanger tube 5 and the fitting hole 8. The constitution permits the tube plate 6 and the heat exchanger tube 5 to be readily joined, and a faulty heat exchanger tube to be replaced independently.
