Abstract
PURPOSE: To heighten the resolving power and printing speed and eliminate the disturbance of printing and the nonuniformity of printing density, by using a light- emitting monolithic Ga(AsP) diode array and a three-layer photosensitive member made of Se in the main.
CONSTITUTION: A PbS layer 13, a polycarbonate layer 14 of 0.1W0.2μ in thickness, an Se layer 15 of 20W100μ in thickness, an Se.Te layer 16 which has a thickness of 0.5W1μ and contains Te at a molar ratio of 0.15W0.5 and an Se.Te.Sb layer 17 containing Te at a molar ratio of 0W0.15 and Sb at a molar ratio of 0.01 or less are produced on an electroconductive carrier 12 to manufacture a photosensitive member 1. This photosensitive member is charged with positive electricity by a uniform charging corotron 2. Signals are written on the charged photosensitive member by lighting on and off a plurality of light-emitting monolithic diodes 4 in which P-N junctions are provided by selectively diffusing Zn in mixed crystal layers of Ga (AsP), thereby forming an electrostatic latent image. The image is developed by a developing unit 5 so that the image becomes visible. The developed image is transferred onto paper 11 and fixed.
