Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a selective gas permeable membrane which comprises a high polymer material obtainable from the ester resin of the specific structure and α,ω-bifunctional polysiloxane and which has the mechanical strength as a thin film and is further high in the coefft. of permeation.
CONSTITUTION: The selective gas permeable membrane is constituted by the ester resin (A) shown by the formula I (e.g. a polymer of about 3,000mol. wt. of which R1WR6 comprise CH3 groups, Y=H, X=OH) and the α,ω-bifunctional polysiloxane (B) shown by the formula II. For example, α,ω-dimethylaminodimethylsiloxane (about n=40) is used as the above-described component (B). This crosslinking type copolymer is soluble in organic solvents, and has the sufficient mechanical strength occuring in its crosslinking structure. Further, the siloxane contents of this polymer reach about 70W80%, hence the membrane material having the permeability capacity in which the coefft. of permeation reaches ≥1/2 that of silicone rubber is produced.
