Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a liquid separating pipe of not requiring bonding of film overlap portions with ease by covering a porous supporting pipe with a film or tube of polytetrafluoroethylene having been stretched, made porous and given thermal shrinkability and heat treating these.
CONSTITUTION: A film or tube of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is stretched and is formed to numerous microholes to be made porous and given thermal shrinkage. Here, the film or tube of PTFE is made porous to about 25W95% voids and about 0.05W100μ pore sizes. The film etc. after stretching are about 20W500μ thick. Next, this film or the like is usually covered on a porous supporting pipe by wrapping, after which it is heated to about 330W420°C to be shrunk and be adhered to the supporting pipe, whereby the liquid separating pipe is produced. Hence, the production process is simplified without using any adhesive agent and the liquid separating pipe is manufactured.
