PURPOSE: To control the glow plugs so as to heat at a constant temperature while the engine is operated by controlling the power supply for the glow plugs so as to correspond to the change in the electric resistance of the heating resistors of the glow plugs.
CONSTITUTION: The glow plugs A1WA4 are each attached to the combustion chamber or precombustion chamber of each cylinder. An automatic temperature- setting system 1, which is operated by the starting signal from an input terminal 2, outputs the signal or indication of the engine starting from an output terminal, and sets and controls at will the heating temperature of each of the glow plugs A1WA4. The output resulting from the change in the resistance of a heating resistor RX of each glow plug is inputted from a potential difference-detecting circuit 4 to a powercontrolling means 5, which controls the power supply so that the heating condition of the glow plug is kept constant.
