Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the rust preventing agent having a rust preventing effect at a low concentration, by constituting by alkylphenoxyalkylene carboxylic acid as essential component. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind or two kinds or more of alkylphenoxyalkylene carboxylate type compound, that is, the compound shown by the formula, is contained. The rust preventing agent is obtained by reacting phenolate of alkylphenol (for example, butyl phenol) with monohalogenalkylene carboxylic acid (for example, monochlor acetic acid). For example, aqueous solutions of caustic soda, caustic potassium etc., are used for the compound which is used for salt formation. Normally said solution is used at 0.5-2% concentration and it is effective to prevent the corrosion of iron, steel, cast iron etc.
