Abstract
PURPOSE:To make a flat plate type color display highly precise, fine, and large by forming a fluorescent screen using two penetration type fluorescent substances. CONSTITUTION:Two penetration type fluorescent substances 9 and 10 are alternately arranged in stripes on a fluorescent screen 7 using insulantive stripes 8. By switching voltage (current of both voltage and current), both fluorescent substances develop red color at low voltage, and at high voltage, the fluorescent substance 9 develops green color and the fluorescent substance 10 blue color, respectively. The current of the electron flow emitted from a filament 4 is varied by two sets of grids 5 and 6 and the positions of fluorescent stripes are controlled so as to intersect them at a right angle on the screen. By subsequently color-developing the arbitrary position of the screen and switching the screen anode voltage of a luminous point, color is changed. Since this reduces the size of white points and the number of anode switching terminals to two thirds of conventional ones, the said device can be made highly precise, fine, and large.
