Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect faulty insertion or the like accurately by a method wherein a signal is applied on the input terminal of a terminal enabling circuit being connected through a connector, while the response signal at the output terminal at the other terminal enabling circuit is checked.
CONSTITUTION: An input signal is inverted twice with inverters IC1 and IC2 and then outputted. The enabling circuits thus arranged are connected in series together throughout the all stages by way of input/output connectors 0-CNT and 1-CNT. When a ground potential is fed to the inverters IC1 and IC2 in the printed board unit CB2 at the initial end of the circuit as a check signal, the output of an inverter circuit 30 in the printed board unit PCBN corresponds to the earth potential. If so, the power supply to each printed board unit and the connection thereof to the input and output connectors is considered as perfect. If any circuit 30 receives no power supply, the output terminal becomes higher in the impedance than the ground and the voltage comparator 20 detects the voltage of R2.V/(R1+R2). Thereby, faulty insertion, defective power source or the like can be detected accurately.
