Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable stable image recording at low electric power consumption by displaying and lighting image information in a liquid crystal display device in a manner as to move in the slit width direction and recording the lighted display information by using a focusing type optical transmission body array.
CONSTITUTION: The electric signal corresponding to the original image is applied from an input section 3 via a control circuit 4 to a liquid crystal display device 1 formed with elements in a matrix shape between transparent electrodes 2A, 2B, whereby the image information is displayed in a manner as to move in the slit width direction. The image thus displayed in the liquid crystal 1 is lighted by the light from a linear light source 9 and the image displayed in the liquid crystal 1 is imaged and projected to a recording medium, for example, a photoreceptor 17 of an endless belt shape by a focusing type optical transmission body array 15. At this time, the photoreceptor 17 is controlled by the command from the control circuit 4 so that its moving speed coincides with the moving speed of the image pattern and in this way, recording is accomplished.
