Abstract
PURPOSE: To raise combustion efficiency and improve engine performance of a 4- stroke cycle combustion engine, by providing a guide wall which projects towards the combustion chamber to generate turbulence in the periphery of an exhaust port in the combustion chamber wall and snaking in the letter S shape the portion of an intake passage which is connected to an intake valve port.
CONSTITUTION: When an exhaust valve 13 is still open in the suction stroke, fluid flow resistance is large in the gap between the outer periphery of an exhaust valve port 6 and an exhaust valve 13 where a guide wall 4 to generate rotating currents exists and fluid flow resistance is small where there is no guide wall. As a result already combusted gas flows to the combustion chamber 4, creating rotating currents. The intake suctioned into the combustion chamber 4 through an intake passage 9 of which the portion connected to an intake valve port 5 snakes in the letter S shape assists in more effectively generating rotating currents of the back- flowing already combusted gas which has been generated as explained above, and as a whole the composite are currents of the back-flowing already combusted gas and newly mixed gas become strong rotating currents.
