Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to cool guide shoes for a rolling mill with inclined rolls effectively in comparison with the conventional method by preparing 2 kinds of concave channels both of which constitute water channels in conjunction to the longitudinal and roll directions on the holding surfaces of holders for guide shoes and flowing pressurized water into the water channels mentioned above. CONSTITUTION:In the cooling device for the guide shoes mentioned above, concave channels 7 and 7 are engraved and attached to the longitudinal direction on holding surfaces 6 and 6' of guide shoes 4 and 4' of guide shoe holders 5 and 5' and, at the same time, fish bone concave channels 7' and 7' are provided to the direction of rolling rolls 2 and 2', causing water channels to be constituted in conjunction with bottoms of guide shoes 4 and 4'. The back of guide shoes 4 and 4' are cooled by flowing pressurized water from conduit 8 to the water channels mentioned above. Thus, the whole guide shoes can be effectively cooled even in rolling and idle time without pouring water directly to the working surface and degradation of working environment.
