PURPOSE:To realize the reproduction of the half tone, by reading N times the memory contents of the shift register group in the direction of gradation and by M bits within the recording time of the recording elements of 1N sets of the recording head and then supplying the picture information to 1N sets of recording elements. CONSTITUTION:Control signal b is supplied from terminal 8 of shift register group 6 to show the state of 1; while control signal c is supplied from terminal 10 of shift register group 7 to show the state of 0. And each shift register of group 6 is set under the recirculation mode; while each shift register of group 7 is set under the state in which the output of each comparator of the comparator group is supplied.
