Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the practicality of air fuel ratio control by a sensor by providing a logarithmic conversion part that converts the resistance value change of the sensor into a linear voltage change and then by comparing the output to a mean output found from the maximum and minimum values.
CONSTITUTION: To O2 sensor Rθ using titania, silicon diode D1 is connected in series to constitute logarithmic conversion part 1. Its output V1 pulsates under feedback control over an air fuel ratio and varies in DC component with exhaust gas temperature varying according to aging, so it is amplified by differential amplifier OP1 to obtain output V2. The voltage-dividing circuit composed of resistances R3 and R4 converts this voltage V2 into voltage V3, which is led to minimum-value detecting circuit 2 and the voltage-dividing circuit composed of resistances R5 and R6 converts it into voltage V5, which is led to maximum-value detecting circuit 3. Circuit 2 limits the voltage of capacitor C1 with the minimum output of amplifier OP2 to hold voltage V4, and circuit 3 holds maximum value V6 by capacitor C2. From those voltages V4 and V6, mean value V7 is calculated and used as the reference voltage of comparing circuit OP4 and in accordance with the comparison to voltage V2, a rich-lean decision is made.
