Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a data processor having a wide range of the self-diagnosis, by providing the microprogram μPG control mechanism as an external unit simulator within the data processor of the μPG control in a duplicate and integrated way.
CONSTITUTION: Register group WS113' of simulator S is stored in data processor DP100; and S-use μPG101' is stored in μPG storing memory CM respectively. When DP100 is in the self-diagnosis mode, the process request is supplied to preference circuit 109 via interface control part 104 and selecting circuit 172. The output delivered from circuit 109 is supplied to μPG address generating circuit 110, and the head address showing the X area of the external unit on CM101 is produced to be supplied to CM address register 102. Thus the μPG corresponding to X is read and executed. And when the processing is over, the μPG delivers the end signal to supply it to circuit 109 via AND circuit 173 as well as control part 104.
