Abstract

PURPOSE:To read information accurately, by reading and scanning a stationary original surface by one-dimensional scanning dependent upon a slide mirror and two-dimensional scanning, where the optical system is moved linearly in parallel with the original surface, and by moving a photoelectric converting element together with the optical system. CONSTITUTION:Laser beam L from laser oscillator 1 is condensed by condenser lens 2 and is incident onto slide mirror 3. The laser beam reflected by slide mirror 3 is reflected by plane mirror 9 of the second optical system 10 through plane mirrors 6 and 7 of the first optical system 8 and is irradiated onto the original surface of original 11. Under this state, slide mirror 3 is slided to perform one- dimensional scanning for the original surface, and simultaneously, the first optical system 8 and the second optical system 10 are moved in the arrow direction in speeds v/2 and v respectively to perform two-dimensional scanning, and then, the reflection light from the original surface is incident onto photoelectric converting element 12. The photoelectric converting element converts the original to electric signals, and these signals are subjected to FM modulation to generate recording signals.
