Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily attain the desirable properties for an electrostatic developing roll, by securing a magnet of desired magnetic properties on a shaft and bonding and working the magnet. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of thermoplastic resin with ferrite magnet powder is injected and molded under magnetic field to manufcture four plastic magnet members 4 which has a sectorial cross section and contains uniform grains. The magnet members are secured on the shaft 1. The four sectorial platric magnet members 4 are bonded and hardened. The hardened magnet members are finished to prescribed dimensions by machining. The magnet members are magnetized together by a pulse- like magnetic field to manufacture the four-pole magnet roll. According to this method, the yield and work efficiency are enhanced. The magentic flux density of the surface of the magnet roll can be altered by changing the combination of the degrees of orientation of the powder in the plastic magnet members. The surface density of the roll can be also altered to a desired ratio.
