PURPOSE:To obtain pellets which are not deteriorated due to oxidation and their quality is high by a method wherein a high molecular material extruded from a die of an extruding machine is supplied into water through a case filled wit an inert gas. CONSTITUTION:A nozzle 4 of an extruding machine and a water tank 14 are covered with a case 24 intercepted to the outside air, and the case 24 is supplied with an inert gas from a gas source 27 and filled with it. Melted resin extruded into the case 24 from the nozzle 4 is cut in fixed size by means of a cutter 5 rotated by means of a shaft 12, and pellets 19 are formed, and let fall into water 20 fed to a water tank 14 from a piping 17. The pellets are let overflow on a weir 16 with the waer 20 agitated by means of an agitating blade 13 fastened to the shaft 12, transferred through an outlet pipe 26 and a weir 29 while being cooled and solidified, and extracted from an extraction port 18.
