Abstract

PURPOSE:To pelletize a high-melt index resin without the pellets being stuck together, by cutting the resin extruded through a plurality of thin holes of a die in such a manner that the extruded strands are not overlaid. CONSTITUTION:A melt of a high-melt index resin (e.g. ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer) fed from an inlet 1 is supplied to a feeder 3 by an extruder (the reference numeral 2 indicates a screw), and is extruded as strands through a plurality of the thin holes 6 of the die 5 that is inclined inwardly downward. Said resin strands are cut by a cutter 7 that is actuated synchronously with a piston 4 of the feeder 3, and the resulting pellets 8 are allowed to fall by a water spray 9 into a cooling tank 10, and are then delivered through a dryer 11, a conveyor 12 and a hopper 13 into a storage tank 15.
