Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a granulator capable of treating a big amount of pellets without adhering them to a wall thereof by a method wherein an extruding surface of a die is formed so as to be situated along a revolving focus of a knife edge and cooling fluid is injected into substantially tangential direction of the extruding surface of the die. CONSTITUTION:A revolving shaft 6 of a cutter is arranged in a vertically intersecting direction with respect to an extruding direction and an extruding surface 33 of a die is formed in a configuration so as to be situated along a revolving trace of a knife edge 20. Knives 8 are revolved while extruding resin from nozzles 3 of the die and cooling fluid or water, for example, is injected from slit nozzles 14. Pellets 16 are produced by cutting of the knife edges 20 and are dropped downwardly by gravity and injected air, then, are transferred by air passing through a delivery tube 5. The pellets are flown into one direction, therefore, there is no possibility to adher the pellets to inner walls of a chamber 4 while there is no limit in a number of the nozzles as in a case of an eccentric cut system.
