Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify a construction, by supplying an exciting coil with an alternating current of lower frequency than commercial power or with an alternating current whose frequency is lower than that of the commercial power and which has a section wherein the magnitude of the current does not vary with the lapse of time.
CONSTITUTION: The voltage of commercial power 10 is turned on and off by a switch 11 and rectified by a full wave rectifier 11. An exciting current of lower frequency than the commercial power 10 is supplied to the exciting coil 3 of an oscillator. The exciting current is a pulsating current defined by the time constant of the coil 3. When a measured fluid Q flows through the oscillator, a flow rate signal voltage similar to the exciting current appears across flow rate detection electrodes 7a, 7b. The signal voltage is sampled by a synchronous rectification circuit in a division circuit 9 while the exciting current is constant. The ratio of the signal voltage to a compared voltage appearing across a resistor 13 is determined. A flow rate signal is picked out from an output terminal 16.
