Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate a bad influence on an electric power system while preventing an abnormal response in an accident by constituting a controller so that ignition control over a thyristor in the accident will be fixed in a state before the accident.
CONSTITUTION: Transmission-distribution line 1 of an electric power system is provided with phase-advance reactive power supplying method 2 composed of reverse-parallel thyristors 22, connected in reverse parallel to each other, and reactor 21 and capacitor 3, supplying phase-delay reactive electric power, in parallel, and controller 4 is further connected via signal line 5 transmitting the voltage signal of the electric power system. This controller 4 is equipped with ignition signal generating method 43 controlling thyristors 22 of method 2 by the voltage signal and the signal of switch method 42, sample holding circuit 45 receiving the signal of accident indication signal line 44, and ignition control circuit 41. In normal operation, thyristors 22 are controlled by the output of circuit 41 and once abnormality happens, method 42 is changed over to the circuit 45 side by the signal of signal line 44 to control thyristors 22 in the state before the occurrence of the abnormality held by circuit 45, thereby preventing abnormal responses.
