Abstract
PURPOSE: To accelerate dephosphorization and desulfurization reaction at small T and Fe amounts in slag by making the basicity of the slag ≥2.3 and employing a synthetic flux of CaO-FemOn base for part of CaO as a slagging agent, at the time of performing steel making refining with an oxygen top blowing converter having a bottom blowing function.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of performing decarbonization and refining by oxygen blowing from molten scraps, etc. in an oxygen top blowing converter provided with bottom blowing lances, the basicity of molten slag is held at ≥2.3. At this time, CaO is used for the slagging agent of this basic molten slag in such a range in which the basicity becomes about 2.0 and a calcium ferrite base synthetic flux having the form of CaO-FemOn is used as a slagging agent for forming the remaining basicity. The molten slag in which the activity of CaO in the molten slag is large and the FeO activity of 6W15% as T, Fe is small is formed. The oxidation slagging of P and the superior dusulfurization reaction by high basicity molten slag of small FeO activity are accomplished by the agitation and contact of the molten metal and the molten slag by bottom blowing.
