Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the breakdown by electric discharge and generate stable grid voltage by adding the Zener diodes series connected with a plurality and a current- limiting resistance to the electric charger of scorotron type.
CONSTITUTION: The Zener diodes D2 series-connected with plural bilateral Zener diodes D21WD25 are connected to the grid G of the electric charger of scorotron type used for charging and destaticizing of the photoreceptor in the copying machine and are grounded at one end to perform the stabilization of grid voltage. Also, a current-limiting resistor R1 is inserted between a DC electric power source E and a corona wire W. Hence, the stable grid voltage is applied by the Zener diodes D2, by which the photoreceptor may be charged. In addition, the breakdown of the Zener diodes D2 owing to electric discharge may be prevented by the current-limiting resistance R1, whereby the reliability may be improved.
