Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the using efficiency of current and prevent faulty phenomenon such as spark discharge, etc., by connecting a diode between a metallic wire and a shield as well as between a shield and an earth respectively so as to flow the current in the prescribed direction. CONSTITUTION:An AC high voltage power source 5 is applied via a capacitor 4 to a metallic wire 3 which is stretched within a metallic shield 2. At the same time, diodes 7 and 8 are connected between the wire 3 and the shield 2 as well as between the shield 2 and an earth 5 to flow the current only toward the shield 2 from the wire 3 and toward the earth 5 from the shield 2 respectively. The property of AC discharge is never impaired for the wire 3 since the positive voltage is instantaneously applied to the wire 3. In other words, the uneven discharge distribution can be improved by leaving the property of AC discharge. Furthermore, using efficiency of current is greatly increased because the discharged current does not flow toward the shield 2. In such constitution, the faulty phenomenon such as the spark discharge, etc. is prevented.
