Abstract
PURPOSE: To effectively convert the vertical energy of waves into electric energy by combining a cylindrical body vertically fixed in the water and a float which moves vertically by the waves with a piston, a cylinder, etc.
CONSTITUTION: Oil flows into or out of pipes 23, 24 through connecting ports of a piston rod 9 by the reciprocating motion of a piston 8 in a cylinder 7 by the vertical movement of the waves. If oil flows into the pipe 23 by an upward movement of the piston 8, the oil flows into an accumulator 13 through a valve 26 by the reciprocal action of check valves 29, 30. Also, oil flows in the pipe 24 in the direction that it flows out to the cylinder 7, and the oil sucks out oil in a vacuum tank 12 by the reciprocal action of the check valves 31, 32. Being thus constituted, a difference in pressure is generated in the accumulator 13 and the vacuum tank 12, and oil in the accumulator 13 turns oil motors 15, 15' and flows to the vacuum tank 12. The rotation of oil motors 15, 15' is conveyed to generators 14, 14' to generate power.
