Abstract
PURPOSE: To efficiently pick up energy of waves by pumping up water with a piston cylinder type pump through a floating body which makes vertical motion with waves, and subsequently operating a power generating device by head pressure of pumped up water.
CONSTITUTION: A piston 9 of a cylinder device 7 is always given downward force due to the difference between the head pressure put on a suction port 13, that is, head pressure caused by the surface of an upper reservoir 1 led from a water pipe 16 through a check valve 15 and head pressure put on a low pressure room 12, that is, head pressure caused by the surface with a floating body 5 led through a filter 19. As a result, a cable 16 is maintained in strained condition by the floating body 5. When the floating body 5 sensitively responds to waves and makes vertical motion to operate the piston 9, water sucked in from a lower reservoir 4 is discharged to the upper reservoir 1. Water of the upper reservoir 1 then flows down through a water pipe 2 and operates a generator 3.
