Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable continuous vacuum defoaming of the material to be treated to be performed smoothly and surely by connecting single-shaft screw pumps to the lead-in port and take-out port respectively for the material to be treated of a vacuum deforming tank.
CONSTITUTION: The material to be treated supplied from a supply source such as a hopper 4 to the suction port 5 of a single-shaft screw pump 6 is continuously supplied at a constant rate into a vacuum defoaming tank 1 via a discharge port 7 and a lead-in port 3 by overcoming the elastic contactual seating force of a valve 8 while being held sealed by the pump 6. This material is then exposed to a vacuum in the tank 1 and is thereby defoamed. In addition, an upper limit level switch 15 and a lower limit level switch 16 define the stopping and operation resuming of the pump 6 so as to define the upper and lower limits of the material in the tank 1. The thus defoamed material is taken out at every rate continuously to outside the tank 1 while being held sealed by a single-shaft screw pump 12.
