Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to code braille while reading them at a high speed by converting a read signal of brailles into a digital signal, by converting it into two-dimensional information and then by arrying and mass-separating it by dividing the information into a few groups.
CONSTITUTION: A braille waveform detected by braille reader 20 is converted into a digital signal by waveform shaping circuit 6. Data buffer 7 samples and remembers a few scanning lines of the digital signal and then sends them to matrix circuit 8. Circuit 8 converts information, arriving in time series, into two-dimensional information and finds the center point of the point image. The point image output from circuit 8 is input to one of buffers 11W13 of line buffer 10 through the switching of circuit 9 and buffers 11W13 store upper, intermediate and lower lines of braille points while arraying them. Alignment circuit 14 arraying points arryed laterally in longitudinal lines and inputs them to microcomputer 15. Microcomputer 15 reads them and mass-separates them through software to recognise them as codes.
