Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium which can prevent curl specific to a metallic tape and to improve recording efficiency, by forming a magnetic substance layer, on which data is recorded by vertical magnetization, on both sides of a base. CONSTITUTION:On both sides of a film base 3, magnetic substance layers 4a and 4b on which data is recorded by vertical magnetization are formed to nearly the same extent by vacuum-deposition, high-frequency sputtering, etc. Thus obtained magnetic recording medium has less curl and the increased thickness of the magnetic substance because of the formation of the magnetic substance layers 4a and 4b on both the sides of the film base 3. Further, sticking conductive substances both on front and rear surfaces of the film base prevents the generation of static electricity even when a tape runs slidingly. Therefore, a pulsating electrostatic noise is not generated in reproduction unlike a conventional recording medium made of high polymer base films with rear surface.
