PURPOSE:To effectively utilize the branch locations of all branch instructions in spite of the case in which programs run away just prior to detection of a fault by storing the branch locations of all the branch instructions with respect to the programs under operation when the fault occurs. CONSTITUTION:When the programs of a program storage memory 3 are executed, and a branch instruction 4 is executed, its branch location address is stored in the branch location storage memory 5 of the memory 3. Therefore, even if there are many branch instructions in the programs, the branch instrucions 4 and a branch location storage memory 5 exist in a pair and therefore all the branch locations are stored. Hence, branch locations of all the branch instructions are known with respect to the programs under operation when a fault occurs, and are effectively utilized for fault analysis and program testing.
