Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform the recovery of the latent heat of the exhausted gas efficiently in the method of recoveing the latent heat of the exhausted gas generated in the manufacturing process of sintered minerals or in various garbage incinerators, by oxidizing the exhausted gas, flowing it, and contacting it with a catalyst, and regenerating the catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: The exhausted gas 2 generated in the burner and the like 1 is mixed with a burnt gas 4 which is burnt in a exhausted gas heating furnace 3. The mixture is heated to a high temperature and introduced into a reactor 5. The reactor 5 is, e.g., of a rotating type, and filled with the catalyst such as iron ore, platinum series noble metals, and the like. The exhausted gas contacts with said catalyst and combustible component is oxidized. The temperature of the exhausted gas 2 is further increased by this oxidization. The heat of the exhausted gas is exchanged with that of regenerating gas 7 in the heat recovery process in a heat exchanger 6, and the temperature is decreased. The regenerating gas 7 whose temperature is increased in the heat exchanger 6 enters into the reactor 5, where the catalystic poison on the surface of the catalyst is removed. Evaporation is performed in a heat recovering device 8, and the heat is recovered.
