Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance the efficiency in converting wind power energy by a method wherein the delivery of an oil hydraulic pump is controlled in proportion to the square of the velocity of wind acting on a windmill, in a generator wherein an oil hydraulic pump is driven by utilizing wind power and an oil hydraulic motor is rotated by pressure oil.
CONSTITUTION: The windmill 1 is connected to a variable displacement type pump 2, and the delivery side of the pump 2 is connected through accumulators 3 and a closing valve 9 to the oil hydraulic motor 4 which drives the generator 5. The torque T of the input shaft of the pump is represented by the formula T=Δp.D/ 2π, where p is pump pressure and D is the displacement (delivery) per rotation. Since the torque Tw at the output shaft of the windmill is given by Tw=kv2, where k is a constant of proportionality and v is the wind velocity, it is sufficient to control the operation of the oil hydraulic pump 2 so that T=Tw, that is, Δp.D= 2πkv2.
