Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect leakage with a high sensitivity at a lower cost in a simple handling manner by detecting an unbalanced output voltage of a bridge circuit into which a leak detecting sensor containing a resistance wire is incorporated. CONSTITUTION:Numeral 1 indicates a portable leak detecting sensor containing a resistance wire composing an unbalanced impedance of a bridge circuit, 2 an air shield hood, 3 a voltage detector, 4 an impedance composing the bridge circuit, 5 a power source and 6 a through hole made on the air shield hood. The leak detecting sensor 1 is put on the surface of a test matter into which air is sealed and is moved slowly therealong. An airflow leaked at affected points touches the resistance wire of the sensor 1 and resulting changes in the temperature causes a variation in the resistance value. An unbalanced voltage is generated in the bridge circuit thereby enabling the detection of possible leaked points.
