Abstract

PURPOSE: A carcinostatic agent, containing a specific chlorinated phenothiazine derivative as an active constituent, and capable of exhibiting a strong inhibitory action particularly on a solid tumor with high safety.
CONSTITUTION: A carcinostatic agent containing a chlorinated phenothiazine derivative of formula I or II (Y is H or acetyl) as an active constituent. Some of the compounds expressed by formula I or II are known to have a pharmacological action as a psychotropic agent, however, have a strong carcinostatic action on a solid cancer regardless of the pharmacological activity as the psychotropic agent with low toxicity without side effects on autonomic nervous diseases or central nervous system and are highly safe. The agent is administered in a dose of 50W2,000mg per day for an adult by the oral route or injection.
