Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a pollution-free fuel having excellent ignitability and combustion efficiency and low sulfur dioxide gas emission, by subjecting the combustion residue charcoal of waste tires to the grain controlling process, removal of iron, and alkali-treatment.
CONSTITUTION: Residual charcoal obtained by the combustion or the carbonization of waste tires, is sieved to control the grain sizes, passed through a magnetic iron separator to remove iron contained in the charcoal, and treated with an alkali to obtain the objective fuel. The alkali-treatment is carried out, e.g. by immersing the charcoal into an aqueous solution of sodium carbonate or adding alkali powder to the charcoal.
EFFECT: Prevention of clogging of the furnace grate with iron-containing clinker.
