Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise the coefft. of the heat transfer in the rear portion of fins by attaching resistors to the fins in such a way as to enable the fluid outside a pipe to flow along the rear portion of the fins while going round the pipe.
CONSTITUTION: Fins 2 are wholly attached to a core pipe 1 provided at a right angle to the main flows 5 of a fluid outside a pipe to make up a finned tube 3. Then, a thin plate 4 is provided by welding, etc., to the peripheral edge of the fins 2 situated at the position of 45° to the main flow 5 of the fluid outside the pipe on the back flow side of the fins 2. When the main flow 5 passes by, the thin plate 4 serves as a resistor against the main flow 5 of the fluid outside the pipe, and the air flow which passes through the fin 2a on the frontal side of the core pipe 1 is changed its direction by the thin plate 4 to enable it to pass through the fin 2b on the back side of the core pipe 1.
