Abstract

PURPOSE: To firmly and easily fix an annular object to a tubular body by bulging the outside diameters of the tubular body on both sides of the annular object outward in the diametral direction thereby forming annular beads.
CONSTITUTION: An annular object 2 is fitted onto a tubular body 1, and one end side 1a is gripped with a supporting device 4. The outside diameter part thereof is restrained within a cylindrical hollow part 5 by leaving a prescribed axial space from the side surface of the object 2. A press-fitting member 8 is then moved forward to press the end face of the object 2, thereby press-fitting the object 2 to a knurled part 3. At this time, the leading end of the other end side 1b of the body 1 abuts on the end face of the push shaft 7a of a pressing punch 7. Thence, the punch 7 is advanced to press the body 1 axially. At this time, the end face of the one end side 1a of the body 1 is supported by a stopper 6, and the end face on the other end side is pressed by the punch 7. Thereupon, the body 1 plastically deforms and bulges the nonrestrained outside diameter parts 1c on both sides of the object 2 outward in the diametral direction, thereby forming annular beads 1d, 1d, and fixing the object 2 axially to the body 1.
