Abstract

PURPOSE:To make measurement errors difficult to occur despite the inclusion of noise by modulating ultrasonic waves by the pulse train which plural pieces of pulses are made to one set. CONSTITUTION:Ultrasonic waves generated by an ultrasonic oscillator 5 are modulated by a modulator 6. This modulation is accomplished by the pulses consisting of plural pieces as one set. The ultrasonic waves modulated by one set of these pulses are transmitted by an ultrasonic transmitter-receiver 2, and arrive at an ultrasonic transmitter-receiver 3. On the transmitter-receiver 3, one set of these ultrasonic pulses are received as normal ones by the prescribed time difference by a discriminating amplifier. Hence, in spite of the inclusion of noise, it is not regarded as normal pulses in the transmission-receiver 3, and is rejected and therefore the error owing to this does not occur.
