Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the correction of measurement error owing to the temp. change of transmission space simple by providing a correcting plate which reflects a part of ultrasonic wave pulses and correcting the level measured values by utilizing the reflected waves thereof. CONSTITUTION:When ultrasonic pulses are radiated from a transmitter-receiver 11 to the point 13 to be measured, a part of ultrasonic wave beams are reflected by a correcting plate 15, and the greater part are reflected by the surface 12 to be measured. The respective reflected waves are received in the transmitter-receiver 11. In this case, the measured values of the reflection levels from the fixed plate 15 are correted with respect to distances at all times, and the measured level from the reflection surface 12 is corrected by using the corrected values. These prevent the gage from receiving level changes owing to the temp. of the transmission space, hence permit the level measurement free from errors.
